The Morning Star

A Testimony of a Divine Encounter

The Morning Star

They say that truth is stranger than fiction and in my experience that's proven to be true. This experience happened a long time ago, though not long before I forsook all to walk the narrow path and was instrumental in giving me the faith to do it.

Our soul is beyond physical form. It's like a drop of water or bubble and within its center is the spark of eternal awareness and divine inspiration, the morning star of endless dawns and when God gave birth to it in the supernatural, He breathed His life into it, which means He filled it with His divine nature and characteristics of absolute, undying, true love and majestic virtuousness, along with the absolute knowledge, understanding and awareness of it, and though we may not be consciously aware of it, all our soul knows, understands and is aware of, is absolute love and virtue.

I had an English friend, called Andrew and he was part of a group of men I'd met, who were Christians, but didn't attend church. That's because they thought the church was full of religious egos and lukewarm fence sitters, who held them back.

"Woe to you lawyers! For you have taken away the key of knowledge. You did not forsake all and enter in yourselves, and those who were entering in you hindered."Luke 11:52

One day, Andrew visited me in my office. He was carrying a backpack and a painting that was about 1m X 1m square, of a cross and he told me he was going on a walk of faith, and asked if I'd like to come. So I asked him, "Where to?"

"Sydney," he answered. A distance of some 900+ kilometres from where we were in the center of Brisbane.

"Sure!" I replied, "I'm up for an adventure."

We started from the center of Brisbane and as we walked through and out of the city, we'd see people walk out of their houses and down to their front gate, meeting us as we got there. They all asked us who we were, what we were doing and where we were going? They seemed perplexed and when we asked them why, they told us they really had no idea why they'd come outside. They just suddenly felt like they really needed to get up and walk out to the gate. God is far more in control than anyone realizes and I've come to believe there's no such thing as coincidence, only divine appointments and dates with destiny.

We travelled the first day and slept under a bridge that night, then continued for half the next day, until I could go no further, due to a huge blister on my right heel. So I returned to Brisbane and Andrew continued on his own.

A couple of months later, he showed up in my office with his backpack and painting, and I asked him how it all went?

"It was amazing!" He exclaimed, with a twinkle in his eye and reached into his backpack to pull out a stack of newspapers, from all the towns and cities he'd walked through, and his photo was on the front page of them all. Some of them had a photo of the mayor of the town handing him the "key to the city". I kid you not.

"Andrew the Peacewalker", they'd called him and Andrew told me, that all along the way, people would put signs out on the road to direct him to their place for a meal, bath and bed for the night, and when he got to Sydney, he was interviewed on the radio.

That's just the background story for what came after.

Not long after that, Andrew was staying with a mutual friend of ours, from the group I mentioned, who lived up in the Blackbutt Ranges, some 100kms away. As I awoke on the Saturday morning, I had a strong sense that I needed to go up there, and as it happened, my business partner's husband was a gold miner, who had a mine out that way and was driving up through there that afternoon.

So I got a lift with him, though I had to ride in the back of his truck, under a tarpaulin in the cold, pouring rain, as it was the middle of winter. So naturally I wondered, "Why am I doing this?" Though as I've said many times, I'm just an ordinary man who's experienced many extraordinary things and though I AM in the lord, as the lord is in me, I am not the lord, I am not He, nor do I consider myself to be a prophet or other such thing, merely a humble actor and servant voice who follows His direction for my part in His end time movement, The League of True Love.

I arrived shortly before dinner time and after dinner, we all sat down for a drink and conversation that centered around Christian living. Then shortly before midnight, something Andrew said, offended our friend's wife and he was asked to leave.

As he left the house and began walking down the road, I told them I'd go with him and keep him company. It was about midnight, cold and with an occasional drizzle. Though it was a full moon, which was handy, because we didn't have a torch.

We walked for a while, until Andrew saw an old, overgrown track, heading off into the bush and told me he felt God wanted us to follow it. The grass was knee high in the middle of the tracks and it obviously hadn't been used in some time. We were in mountain country without a torch and I wondered if it was a wise move or not? Yet I trusted Andrew's relationship with God and we followed it.

After a little while, we came to a clearing and in the clearing and long grass, stood an old, timber house, much like the one in the picture.

We walked up the steps to the front door and Andrew knocked, with no answer. So we put our hands up against the windows and peered in. It was obviously abandoned, as there wasn't any furniture or pictures on the wall, etc., and there was a heavy layer of dust and spider webs.

Andrew tried the handle and to our surprise, it wasn't locked, so we went in. I had a look through the kitchen cupboards, while Andrew walked up the hallway. All the cupboards were empty and the dust I'd disturbed was flying around the room, when Andrew suddenly called to me, "Hey! Come here! You're not going to believe this!"

I quickly walked to where he was, in a bedroom at the end of the hall and he was right, it was hard to believe. The bedroom was spotlessly clean and there were two single beds, with crisp, clean sheets, perfectly tucked in with hospital corners and crisp, clean pillows. Between the beds was a bedside table, that had not one speck of dust on it and on the table was a candlestick with a brand new candle that had never been lit and a box of matches that had never been opened.

Naturally, it sent a tingle up my spine and we were too excited to sleep. So we lit the candle and read from Andrew's bible until the sun came up.

As we watched the dawn begin to break through the window, I saw and felt what seemed like a star burst like a blossoming flower in my heart and Andrew turned to me and gasped, "Did you see that?" He'd had the same experience.

And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts2 Peter 1:19

Yes indeed, our soul is like a seed, that contains within it all the potential and everything we need, to become the absolute best character we can become. That of an absolutely perfect gentleman or gentlewoman of true love's (therefore God's) divine nature, according to and shining with true love's characteristic, majestic virtues (fruits), in our every thought, word and deed, without the slightest spot, stain, mark or blemish of the characteristic, sinful (unvirtuous) pride, vanity, envy, selfishness, ambition, lust, greed, desire for creature comfort or fear for survival of THE BEAST of the carnal, instinctual, egoistic (self-centered) nature of the flesh God named Satan and man calls ego, an everyday saint by any other name, and in understanding this, helps with understanding what Jesus meant, when He proclaimed, "The kingdom of heaven is within you!"

GENEROSITY
lamb

passive lamb-like characteristic of true love's divine nature

Generosity is giving and sharing. You share freely, not with the idea of receiving something in return. You find ways to lift the spirit of others, and give just for the joy of sharing. Generosity is one of the best ways to show love and kindness.

But a generous man devises generous things, and by generosity he shall stand.Isaiah 32:8

Challenge yourself to be aware of any and all opportunities to practice and apply generosity in your life this week, and the times you should have, but didn't because of the characteristic pride, vanity, envy, selfishness, ambition, lust, greed, desire for creature comfort and/or fear for survival of the carnal, instinctual, egoistic (self-centered) nature of your flesh.
